There’s no place like home

“Is it hard coming back from Spain?” That’s the question on everyone’s lips as we make the transition home after our time away.

Depending on the moment asked, you may get a different answer from either of us. BUT, we will say it’s great to be home! We missed our little apartment, the mobility of having a car, and of course our great friends here at the ministry center in Townsville. And being in the office 8am to 5pm again? Well that’s taking some adjusting! (Surely you understand:-) All that to say, there’s amazing things going on here at YWAM rto, and we’re grateful to be a part of it all.

Our time away was fabulous. We had five weeks in America visiting family and raising our support for ministry, and then six weeks in Spain for our Leadership Development Course. Being away for nearly three months had its challenges, but also so many rewards. It was an incredible time of seeing God’s provision in new ways as we stepped out in faith, and it was an awesome time of seeing both our needs and the desires of our heart met – both personally and in ministry.

Over and over again we saw the favour of the Lord as we shared our vision for ministry. We had so many open doors and divine connections and meetings, as well as opportunities to link with new partners in ministry. It was not only encouraging for us, but really faith-building since we’re headed into some big challenges as we approach pioneering the youth centre and the other ministry areas we’re involved in at the base.

In the immediate future we’re preparing for the DTS (that we will lead together) which begins in about a month. So far we have 18 students accepted, with the possibility of several more. It looks like we will see at least 20 students on this school, which is fantastic!

We’re very much looking forward to stepping into leadership side-by-side and seeing how we function as a couple/team in a more formal ministry setting. It will be great to have the opportunity to work closely together, and to develop a team around us for the things God’s leading us into as a family.

Thanks for your prayers and support as we transition “back home” to life in Townsville. It really is good to be back and we’re so grateful for all of you who made our homecoming so welcoming!
