Quick outreach update

palm island kidsWe’ve just returned from “local outreach” in Palm Island and Mt. Isa with the DTS. It was a great time to see the students in action and lives being touched in these Aboriginal communities.

In two-and-a-half weeks we begin our overseas outreach with teams going to Papua New Guinea, Outback Australia, and New Zealand. Ryan is leading the New Zealand team and Adriel will be joining with the team for part of the outreach.

When we last wrote we needed approximately $4500 for outreach… We’re still in need of some finances, but our total need is now down to $2800 (AUD), which is great. If you’re able to give toward this expense, please let us know ASAP and/or see our “Give” page for details on how to contribute.

Thanks for your prayers and support which enables us to go on outreach and do all that God’s called us to do. Together with you–our partners–we are reaching nations!

Much love from the Booker Three x

p.s. See our new “Baby” page above if you’d like ideas on how to welcome little bubby Booker (and help out his parents too)!

I’m not gonna lie, the Booker family needs your prayers right now! Thanks so much for remembering us in your prayers, and for your support and encouragement.

Love from the three of us,
Adriel, Ryan, and Baby BOY Booker :)

First of all, we have some urgent needs related to our upcoming outreach. In just over a month we leave for New Zealand (with the team we’re leading) to help with the Ship Tour there. The outreach will focus on evangelism, mobilizing young people into missions, and raising awareness and gathering resources for the poor and needy. We need to see approximately $4500aud ($3800usd) come in between the two of us. Please pray for us regarding these outreach finances, and consider giving if you’re able.

Secondly, Ryan’s mom – Sylvia – has just been diagnosed with secondary cancer in her liver and lymph nodes. We found out just over a week ago and she begins chemotherapy on Wednesday. As you can imagine, it’s all quite a shock. Bob and Sylvia and the rest of the family are doing well – all things considering – but we’d greatly appreciate your prayers for her healing and for grace throughout the chemo process. (FYI, Ryan and I were able to fly down to Sydney last weekend for four days to be with the family and help with the early days of hospital visits, tests, and dealing with the initial emotions of it all. It was wonderful to be together.)

And lastly, with all that’s going on – outreach around the corner, financial deadlines, leading the DTS, seeing mum Booker head into chemo, pregnancy and preparing for parenthood – both Ryan and I are under a lot of pressure. We’re leaning into God but are well aware of our weaknesses and need for personal support. Please do pray for us as we try to be faithful to God in our family as well as our ministry responsibilities. We desperately want to keep our priorities in line with His.

Back from two weeks out bush

We’ve just returned from two weeks of camping with the DTS up at Hidden Valley (two hours outside of Townsville). It was a great time of bonding and meeting with God… without all the distractions of everyday life (internet, phones, tv, etc).

The first week camping we had lectures on the “Lordship of Christ” with Ryan speaking. His teaching went really well and the students had some amazing victories in their lives. It was an awesome time of growth and ministry.

During the second week we were joined by the April DTS, the entire staff of YWAM Townsville, and all the base children for our RTO Staff Retreat. Together all 120 of us enjoyed God’s great outdoors with friends and ministry partners.

We also had Dave and Carrie Stephenson with us from YWAM Newcastle – Carrie speaking in the staff sessions, and Dave speaking on the DTS. Their input to our ministry was timely, and it was fun to have these good friends with us for a short time.

It was a wonderful two weeks – despite the frigidly cold nights and a leaky air mattress – but we’re now thankful to be home. We’re clean, our clothes are fresh, and we’re enjoying our internet, refrigerator, and cozy bed again!
